Hong Kong!
Hey! This is my first entry for the new month. It took me 10 days to write something here. L0L! I have been busy with work and that's why I didn't really have the time to update. I worked till last Wednesday in the same company as my aunty. They actually extended my contract for 3 days, so that was pretty cool. I managed to earn $672 for myself during my entire 12 days of work. Yeah! I'm going to save up that money for future needs.
I departed for Hong Kong on Thursday with my 6 relatives and 2 cousins. My flight was supposed to be at 1.30pm, however it was delayed for 2 hours. Unbelievable. I woke up so early and got ready for it. *Sighz* Anyway, we went to the airport early to have lunch and walk around the duty free shops. I didn't buy anything as I wanted to get stuff from Hong Kong that are hopefully cheaper. The flight departed Singapore at 3.20pm and arrived in Hong Kong at 7pm plus. The queue at the immigration check out was LONG! The good thing was that the queue moved fast. By the time we checked out and got our luggages, it was already about 8pm plus. We managed to get to our hotel (The Royal Garden @ Mody Road in Kowloon) and checked in at about 9pm. Then we went out to have dinner/supper and walked around our hotel area. L0L! I didn't manage to buy anything as most of the shops were already closed at that time. It was already about 11pm plus when we started walking around. However, we managed to see the nightlife in Hong Kong, which was really cool. There were many shops along the streets as well as a couple of shopping centres nearby. The next day was a public holiday for Hong Kong as it was Moon Cake Festival. However, the places we went to won't as crowded as I thought it would be. We left our hotel at around 11am as we were all pretty tired. L0L! We went for breakfast/lunch at a restaurant in the shopping centre opposite to our hotel. The food wasn't fantastic though and not worth the money in my opinion. Anyway, we took the MTR from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central, then a bus to Stanley Market. We shopped there for awhile and I managed to get 3 T-shirts there for HK$200, which is SG$40. Then we went back to our hotel to put our stuff down before proceeding out again for dinner at Ladies Street. I managed to get another 2 T-shirts there and a leather wallet for about HK$200 again. We also went to Temple's Street after that to take a look, but it was similar to Ladies Street, so I didn't buy anything. I felt that Ladies Street had more variety and better stalls compared to Temple Street. L0L! We went back to our hotel at around 12am plus? Yeah, we were all tired and went to bed about 2am. On Saturday, we moved out about an hour earlier than Friday. We went for breakfast at a Restaurant close to our hotel. The Dim Sum at this restaurant was really good and they had a whole lot of varieties compared to the previous restaurant we went to. We decided to go to Times Square after breakfast to have a glance. We took the MTR from Tsim Sha Shui to Causeway Bay. We didn't really buy much from Times Square as it was all the branded stuff for the rich. We only went to the supermarket to buy some of their traditional local products like Lao Po Bing and Love Letters. From there, we took a cab to the foot of Victoria Peak as we wanted to take the Tram up. The queue for the tram was really long. It went zig-zag for like 5 rows at least. Fortunately, the queue moved fast and we were able to get our tickets within half an hour or so. The Tram ride was nice as you are able to see the scenary around you, but the ride was too short! It was only 10 minutes and it cost HK$33 for going up and back down, which is around SG$6. There was a shopping mall and a viewing terrace once we got to the top of the peak. We didn't really have time to shop at the shopping mall, but we did take a look of the scenary from the viewing terrace. It wasn't really fantastic as it was hazy and stuff, so I felt that the trip to Victoria Peak was a waste of time. After coming back down the peak on the tram, we took a cab back to our hotel as we were meeting some relatives at 5pm for dinner. We got back to our hotel on time and relax for awhile as our relatives were late and only reached at 7pm. We had our dinner at the restaurant in our hotel and they came up to our rooms later to talk awhile before leaving at 9pm plus. We went out again after that to the nearby areas to took a look around again as it was our very last night. I managed to get a pair of jeans too that cost HK$99, which is SG$20. We managed to get some local products as well. We got back to our hotel at 12pm plus and were in bed by 2am. The final day in Hong Kong was a pretty short one as our flight was at 4pm and we have to check in by 3pm. That means we need to leave our hotel by 2pm. We woke up early and went to the Hong Kong Cultural Centre for breakfast/lunch. Then, we went to SOGO for awhile and New World Store. It was very rushing though and I wasn't able to get anything. We got back to our hotel at 1.30pm and started packing our stuff to get ready to leave the hotel. We left our hotel at about 2pm and took a cab all the way to the airport. We reached there in about half an hour and we were lucky as there wasn't any jams along the way. We didn't have time to shop in their duty free shops as well. Yeah, so we bid Hong Kong farewell and boarded the plane. The plane wasn't able to take off for at least 20 minutes due to a delay. Damn! 20 minutes wasted because of that. L0L! However, we managed to reach Singapore on time at 7.45pm. We spent some time at the duty free shop and my uncle bought for me this Hugo Boss cologne and it wasn't cheap! I wanted to pay for it, but he refused. I'm going to find a way to pay him back though for my entire trip and stuff. Let's do some calculations... I spent about SG$230 on my own stuff including the Hugo Boss cologne. The flight cost around SG$370 inclusive of taxes and all. I'm not too sure about lodging, but let's put it at SG$200. As for meals, I have no clue because my uncle paid for everything and I didn't have a chance to take a look at the receipt if there was any. I'm sure that the entire trip was less than SG$1000. Although that's alot of money, but I round everything up so that it would be easy to calculate. I don't think it went above SG$700 to be honest. My uncle's thinking of going to Bangkok at the end of the year. He asked me if I'm interested in going and I told him that we'll see how everything goes. Anyway, I'm left with just 1 week of holidays before school reopens. I'm going to be in a new class with new people! L0L! I'm looking forward to it. I know 4 of my classmates already, so that's pretty nice. I still have to go back to school to do some registration as well as buy my books. Apparently, the website isn't updated yet and I won't know what books to get. I do not want to wait till school reopens before I get my books because the queue would be super long. L0L! Oh well... hopefully, I'll be able to get my books on either Thursday or Friday. Ok! I'm getting too long winded already. I need to stop here!! L0L! I spent hours on this entry because I got distracted and did other stuff while I was blogging. L0L! Anyway, this entry is finally done, so appreciate it! L0L! Take care peeps!
