Frisbee Tournament
Today is definitely a day where I learnt quite alot about myself. I had fun, but at the same time, I learnt things about myself that I wouldn't be able to learn else where.
Just before the tournament began, all the participants gathered in the canteen. Tian Hock wanted to come to my group, so I had no choice but to swap place with him. It was a damn tough decision, whether I regret it or not, you'll come to the conclusion after reading everything. I won't get into detail as I do not wish to. We drew our first match and lost the rest. At the end of the day, this was what Alvin had to say, "Actually I just wanted to have fun, I didn't want to win." I was totally shocked by what he had to say, but I remained calm and said it was okay. Well, we practised and trained so hard and this is what was on his mind? I'm disappointed, god damn disappointed. Well, I don't wish to go on about this. What I learnt from the tournament is that I'm an extremely competitive person, maybe even too competitive. I'm determined to do my best in anything I participate in and lead the team to victory. The bad thing I learnt was that I lose control of myself too easily, that's also my weakness. Once I got hot-tempered and stuff, everything will get out of hand and my performance will be horrible. I tried my hardest not to lose myself today, but I did at some point lose control. Luckily, Garyson was there to tell me to relax, compose myself and take it easy. I definitely have to remember his words. Oh, I saw my godsister today in the hall when she came back to visit the teachers. I had lost contact with her for about 2 years and I was lucky to see her today. I got her new contact number now, so I won't lose it. After school, I went back to class and checked on my blisters. Man, were they bad. I will not want to elaborate on that. I went home and then out again to Jurong Point. I met up with Malbindar and Anwar. Malbindar needed to get his mobile fixed at the Nokia shop. After that we went to the post office as Malbindar needed to mail something. We watched 13 going on 30 at 4:45pm. It was pretty funny, but wasn't that great a movie. I went home after that for dinner and a good rest after a long tiring day. "Don't let today's disappointments cast a shadow on tomorrow's dreams." - Unknown |
